Scary AF

šŸ™…šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļøF NO. I AM TERRIFIED. IT WILL BE AWFUL. NO F-ING CHANCE. I DON'T WANT TO.šŸ™…šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

[fast forward...]

"That wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. Still scary. But not AS scary."

Our human brains do a spectacularly amazing job at catastrophizing our perceived outcomes.

Kind of like when my husband is late coming home and I assume that he must be dead on the side of the road somewhere. He can't possibly be stuck in traffic. Nope. Definitely dead. ā˜ ļø

Our brains do this to self-protect. If we assume the worst, we will somehow be protected and prepared if the worst happens.

If you can talk yourself out of self protection mode for long enough, you might just be able to accept an incredible opportunity to do something new where you can learn more about yourself.
