Have you ever eaten a food that you assumed wasn’t “part of your plan” and then immediately thought the absolute worst possible outcome or scenario?
“I HAD A CHOCOLATE, I HAVE RUINED MY MACROS FOR TODAY”
“I DIDN’T EXERCISE TODAY, I’M NEVER GO
ING TO GET BETTER”
“I ATE WAY TOO MUCH AT DINNER, I KNOW I’VE GAINED TEN POUNDS!”
😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
Come on… don’t lie. We’ve all done it.
What’s WORSE is that once you start KATastrophizing, then it’s ALL downhill from there.
It usually sounds something like, “Well, I f*cked that up, so I’m eating whatever I want for the rest of the day” or “Whatever… I didn’t exercise yesterday, I’m taking today off too…”.
Or maybe you try to overcompensate by restricting yourself to no food the next day, or way overtraining during your next workout.
I mean… talking about living out at the extremes! It’s exhausting!
Let’s pump the breaks.
Don’t act like the five-year-old rolling around the floor of a shopping mall because something didn’t go right. KATastrophizing is not rational thinking, it’s not productive, and it’s detrimental to actual progress.
Bring awareness to this KATastrophizing when you feel like sh!t is going south.
Remember you are not the five-year-old on the mall floor.
You are allowed to have imperfections. Life is about making adjustments, and still being able to make progress forward.
